Abstract

Outline o f this research is to know the relation between art and power, m this case mural as anartwork and Yogyakarta municipality as the power holder. The power holder has the task to create a policyconcerning public space, including art in public space, and the function o f mural as one o f the specificcharacters o f Yogyakarta city.Besides it is also to know the program o f Yogyakarta municipality in managing its area, especiallythat which concerns art in public space, its relation with the aspects o f tourism, education and community'sinvolvement in designing the management o f public space in Yogyakarta city.Key ivords: Mural, Yogyakarta, Public space

Abstract

The Indonesian terms "HAKI" or "IIKI" which are equivalent to the English term IntellectualProperty Rights are considered as a new idea for Indonesians Nevertheless, the Indonesians are familiarwith the terms "Hak Cipta" "Paten" and '’Disain". Even though it is common that those words arcapplied in a sentence at the same time, e.g. 'mematenkan ciptaan" (the u>ord "paten" and "cipta '),"disain yang sudah dipatenkan"(the words "disain"and "paten"), it is a complete mistake.A creator as the subject o f "Hak Cipta " (copyright) is someone or a group o f people loho createssomething in afield o f science, art, and literature because ofhidfher/their inspiration.An invertor, the subject o f "Paten" f Pa tent), is an individu or a group o f people who conducts anactivity o f solving a problem in technology. It can beaprocess orproduct.A designer is someone or a group o f people who produces an industrial design. It can be in a form o fshape, configuration, or composition (o f lines and colors, or the combination o f lines and colors) or thecombination o f them in a form o f 3-dimertsior. or 2-dimension that gives esthetic impression and can berealized in a 3-dimensional o< 2-dimensional pattern. Abstract

Ceramics o f Ganesha by F. Widayaitto represent the expressive works o f art, which different fromthe sculptures o f Ganesha as the deity in Hindu mythology during Hie time we recognized. Pursuant tocharacteristic exist in both, and so its can be detailed and then be compared to and analyzed. One o f thecorrect perspectives to analyze these kinds o f expressive arts is the Structuralism perspective i f Levi-Strauss. Abstract

In Islam expanding in Jaw, known to have prohibition order about depiction of mortal, what hitherto still trusted by society, enjomment depiction of the mortal its wide o f impact especially at fine arts growth in Indonesia. One of the effect ofenjoiment depiction of mortal in Islam is materialization ofpurwashadow play. Prohibiton order depiction o f that mortal bring advantage in shadow play growth in Indonesia, that is creation form puppets whish stilistik with depiction o f purwa puppets by ideoplastik, a way of materialization o f mortal able to be accepted in Islam teaching.Keyword: mortal, purwa shadow play, prohibition order.

Up to now, craftsmanshipelements not only in kriya art, but they also exist in another visua. arts fields. New phenomenon anddevelopment in kriya art is always happen and parallel with 'the neto spirit'of each period, without limited.Craftsmanship elements is also appeared in Biennalle Jogja VIII2005 exhibition.
